Lemonaid + Charitea

Just like the Beatles, Lemonaid grew up in Hamburg’s St Pauli, a bohemian and vibrant area then and now. In the winter of 2008 Jacob Berndt experimented in his little kitchen with some brewed tea, juiced limes and crushed sugar, invited some friends over and clinked glasses. When all those glasses were emptied, Lemonaid was ready for the rest of the world.
Since the summer of 2009 Lemonaid and ChariTea have called in a little help from some seasoned professionals. A small organic company in the south of Germany has taken over the role of filling the bottles and the best fair-trade farmers worldwide provide all the organically grown ingredients. So far so delicious.
But it’s not just the desire to slake thirst with delicious soft drinks that drives Lemonaid. Lemonaid & ChariTea started a project to spur and shape the process of social change. With each bottle the company makes a small contribution. To change the world drink by drink. Beyond the fair-trade and social entrepreneurship, every bottle purchased, supports the charitable organization „Lemonaid & ChariTea e.V.“.
So far, they’ve raised more than £560,000; money which the organization can now put into good use for a variety of development aid projects.
